Pelican Jetty
Pelican Jetty
We built the jetty to reach the boats, but the pelicans decided it was theirs.
Approach, and they do not scatter. They simply turn their heads in unison, clacking hollow bills. A barricade of feathers and flat, glaring eyes.
The tide rolls in beneath them and they hold the line.
