At the Bar
At the Bar
Shafts of afternoon sunlight pierced the London pub's frosted windows, illuminating the heavy Victorian mahogany décor and mirrored walls. Leaning against the ornate bar, a young lady squinted against the harsh glare and caught the eye of the barmaid. "Just a glass of the house red, please," her voice a soft contrast to the lively clatter of the street outside. The barmaid offered a knowing nod.
