Fruit Bowl
Fruit Bowl
With a careful eye, the artist began arranging the subjects for his latest piece, a classic study he themed simply ‘Fruit Bowl’. He placed a striking teal-coloured bowl squarely on a bare wooden slat table, allowing the smooth ceramic to contrast sharply with the rough, weathered lines of the timber. Inside the vessel, he meticulously piled a vibrant harvest: crisp red and green apples, elegantly tapered Conference pears, the bright sweeping curves of bananas, and a cluster of deep, yielding ripe plums. Knowing the power of contrast, he had deliberately draped a completely dark backdrop behind the arrangement, a velvety stark void designed to swallow the shadows and force the vivid, saturated colours of the fruit to leap off the canvas with striking vibrancy.
